About that tea...

Who: Khem, head of botany at St. Louis U
When: A week or so after meeting.
What: A phonecall.

Jason's phone rang at about three PM on a Wednesday, certainly too early for him but he still managed to haul himself out of bed and to the donor kitchen when asked about Khem. She started cooking early after all. Then she got to learn about the joy that was speakerphone since her hands were covered in flour when Jason tried to pass the phone and ended up staring blankly at her for a moment..."hello?"

"Ms. Khemrys?"

"Yes?"

"You were in my office last week do you recall?"

"Of course," she chuckled softly. "You are who we passed the Crnoe's gift to."

"Ah, yes, you called it that. I'm calling to let you know you were right."

She blinked at the phone then shook her head in amusement, "aye, that I was aware lord."

"Ah, right, yes...ah..."

"Was there aught else?"

"Ah yes of course," he sighed, obviously a touch flustered. "I wanted to let you know that the university will be officially contacting the company as well as the FDA in regards to this."

"And that will...?" she prompted gently, back to kneading.

"Should have the product recalled from shelves entirely, potentially start a civil action suit, and hopefully result in stricter health sanctions on tea blends."

Sanctions she understood at least? "And so it shall not be allowed to be sold in such a manner again?"

"Not after this is all through, no, it shouldn't be. I'd really love to meet with you again to discuss what happens next."

What happened next? She blinked at Jason now, who was leaning on a stool and trying not to nod off, "what next might there be then?" she sighed.

"Well, they'll want to know who caught the issue, and why it was brought up..."

"As such it was the two from the shop who allowed me to see such and you who identified it as dangerous on your own merits here yes?"

"Ah..."

"And so they and you are those who might be praised for such. I did naught but act as a go between." To draw attention to the fact hmmm?

"Credit where credit is due miss..."

"Aye and so it is."

There was a deep sigh, then, "is there a reason we shouldn't credit you?"

Was there? Hmmm. "I've no desire for any sort of fame lord. Nor need for such. I am content in my life here." So far?

"...are you in some sort of trouble dear?"

"No? Not that I am aware? I am simply a quiet sort, that someone might speak so that others listen was a boon in this regard, thank you."

"...quiet sorts do not march onto a college campus and demand to speak with professors they have no classes with dear."

"They may certainly when people are at risk, and now they are not," she chuckled softly. "You are the voice as has ensured such and have the knowledge for what needed to be done. That I did not have, hence finding you."

"Be that as it may..."

"And so things are well begun to save many," she assured, "my thanks to your diligence."

"...you are a frustrating woman," he sighed at last. "Most would jump at something like this."

"I assure you I am not most lord, I've no need for such."

"At least let me treat you to dinner so I can thank you properly?"

Dinner? She blinked at Jason, who was indeed nodding off again, but tried to jerk awake at that, "huh?" he yawned.

"He asks to treat me to dinner it seems," she chuckled for him. "Mayhap when you have slept proper we can discuss such?"

"I can send a car," the proffesor cut in easily.

"I wouldst far prefer those I know, lord," Khemrys answered simply. "What eve were you intending?"

"Hmmmm, my schedule here, ah, how does Thursday sound? There's a nice place near the campus here, I can text the address to this phone?"

She had no idea what that meant but, well, "if we are able lord, then we shall join you."

"M'kay," Jason yawned again. "Huh?"

Khemrys chuckled again, amused, "I ask we end this conversation now lord, so the lord Jason may return to his rest and I might knead dough."

"Ah...alright," the proffesor sighed again. "I'll text. Um, enjoy your...bread."

"Thank you lord," she poked a floured finger against Jason's nose so he might scoop his phone back up yes.
